JULIEN TANGHE
With a predilection for melancholy, my debut ep The Impeccable Story of Prince Quarter addresses disparate issues on love and frantic obsessiveness through catchy melodies and rhythmic pulses that hint at soft rock and soul influences such as Alice Phoebe Lou, Crumb, Her's, King Krule, Mildlife, Oscar Jerome, Puma Blue, Robbing Millions, The Internet or Wu-Lu. It's the result of an intimate, introspective and slow writing process. I produced it with Lucien Fraipont and Louis Potin Paraisot, and it features some most appreciated contributors: Fender Mackenson Rooms, Bastien Scutnaire, Ignacio Salvadores and Emma Hessels. I enjoyed presenting it live through a couple of gigs over the year, sometimes playing solo, but mostly with my friends.
With my next project, Walter Ray Allen IV, I want to explore more diverse musical traditions, implementing elements of flamenco, bossa, soul and jazz influences.
